Royall Acres Farm Ownership Requirements
For Great Pyrenees Dogs

At Royall Acres Farm, we strive to raise the best
quality animals possible, and in doing so,
we require all purchasers to be finacially qualified to care for
the animals they purchase from us.

We also require that purchasers provide an adequate
home and room for the animals they purchase.
Great Pyrenees puppies grow very quickly into large
breed dogs.

They have a vast amount of hair and shed
even when groomed regularly. These dogs are not for some-
one who is looking for a non-shedding pet.

Great Pyrenees also dig. They instictivily "bury" themselves
in huge holes to keep cool in the summer
and to shelter themselves from the wind and cold in the
winter. If your pet will be kept outside, without
a concrete kennel floor, expect holes.
Please, do not purchase a Great Pyrenees with the idea of
"breaking" this habit.
Digging is a natural, inborn habit.

Great Pyrenees also "wander", sometimes many miles from
home, setting their own boundries of their patrol
area. Therefore, unless you are purchasing the
dog for a large farm/ranch, you will need to provide
adequate room for your pet to exercise as well as have either
a large area safe for your pet to wander in or a fenced area.

Keeping a Great Pyrenees inside works well for many
pet owners, provided they are allowed in a yard or park
daily for exercise.

These animals are working class dogs and
as such, want to explore, patrol and guard
anyone/or any animals they are raised with.
They make excellent pets for families with
children due to their guardian
potential and
their lovable natures.

Great Pyrenees are not listed by insurance companies as
vicious, therefore, they do not cause an undue
raise in home owners insurance premiums.

Royall Acres farm is dedicated to selling only to those who
are financially and emotionally able to accept the ways
of the Great Pyrenees. We do not want any puppy
we sell to end up in a shelter or with a
family that does not want and love the animal. Those
being purchased as farm/ranch guardians deserve
the same treatment as pet quality dogs, although, they
will remain in an outdoor setting.

Royall Acres Farm does not sale our puppies to those who
are giving them "as gifts" to an unsuspecting receiver.
This can cause puppies to end up in shelters, due to the
fact that the receiver may not want the animal or
may lose interest once the puppy gets too large.
Parents/guardians of children purchasing for their own household
are welcome to apply, but please be aware that a small child
may not be physically capable of handling a Great Pyrenees due to size.

Our policies are created to insure that all potential clients
have an understanding of what is necessary to care for a Great Pyrenees
and to do our utmost to sell our puppies to the most qualified pet/ranch owners.
